One of our family friends recently separated (they'll be divorced soon) My mom works with the man, Greg.
Greg wants to be Kathy's friend. He has no intention of going back to her, but he's a nice guy, they were together a long time, so he feels like he should try and maintain a friendship.
My mom had to convince him that wasn't the best idea. Because of his friendship, Kathy believed she had chance. That wasn't fair to either one of them.
It might be the same way with Janie. Keeping her as a friend, even with you there, could be leading her on. Or it might make her feel like she has a say in his life. But she doesn't anymore and it's not fair to you to let her think she does.
It may not seem like the right thing, but taking some time away from each other, to set up separate lives without any interruptions, is probably the best thing for everyone. She needs to move on too. Bitchy as she is, if she gets a life of her own, she won't be such an annoyance in yours.
Switching to Justin.
Yeah, I thought the same thing. He came around the corner toward our house too fast, lost control, overcorrected, and that's how he hit the car in the driveway. The skid marks are still on the road. What scares me the most is if the car hadn't been there, he could have hit our neighbor's house. That corner room is their bedroom; they were sound asleep when the accident happened. If that car hadn't been there, they could've been killed. He could've been killed.
The whole thing just makes me sick.
Justin left a note the day after the accident apologizing. I told my dad not to believe him. I ended up telling my dad a lot about Justin, about the other little run-ins with the law he's had and the people who stuck up for him. I watched him screw them all over and yelled at him every minute, for all the good it did.
My dad talked with the insurance maybe 4-5 days later and Justin still hadn't filed a claim.
I was watching Save The Last Dance the other night - the 'bad kid', the one that goes to juvee for the other guy. His name is Malachi ^^ Not our plan for Mal! But I thought it was neat to see the name.
