I don't know how much you guys read my blog, or this one for that matter, so I'll say it again: my computer is kind of on the fritz so I probably won't be on much until I get that all sorted out. This might take a day, a week, I really don't know. Probably not a week since my boyfriend is a computer genius - four months! it's insanity - but definitely not until tomorrow night as he is in Green Bay and I'm going Christmas shopping with my dad.
If Whitney wants to pop in and give me a present idea for her that would be swell.
Damn you people who are hard to shop for!
Oh, question. I asked my mom, but I might as well run it past you, too. Dale's birthday was in November. I didn't know how our friend situation was going to be so I didn't get him a gift ahead of time and since I don't drive I really didn't have a chance to get anything. I did go to his party, say happy birthday and promise a gift, which I got the very next time I went out. I got him earrings to replace the ones he lost in the pool - I know you know, but he's a lifeguard - and they were fairly expensive being that there were two and they were the kind that are incredibly hard to get off - or on, really. He has one like that in his top piercing, loves it, so I thought, hey this will be a nice gift.
He said, 'yeah, thanks'.
He said it like I gave him this pile of shit and pretended it was a present. It pissed me off, it really did. He *wanted* them, straight from his mouth, and he acted like I'd given him this great burden. He also proceeded to whine about how hard they were to get on for, like, the next *hour*.
I think it's also important to say that nearly all of the presents he's ever given me have been weeks, if not several months, late. I give him his about two or three weeks late.
The other day he said he'd get me Pirates of the Caribbean for Christmas. He also said he'd get Justin this or Dana that and hasn't come through on any of them ie. saying and doing are very, very different in the Dale school of gift giving.
And he's just a friend now. He's not my best friend, my boyfriend or my family and those are the people I shop for, those are the people I drive myself mad for, trying to find that perfect gift. He did call the other day, but I was sick and the next time I saw him he completely ignored me. Not in a really blatant way, not like the party, but he didn't say anything, not even a simple hello.
But if he comes through on the DVD, he'll be mad I didn't get him anything and will probably hold it against me quite harshly.
So here's my question: do I get him a Christmas present?
